Lily Lovebraids House — Sweet Street Walkthrough Guide

Sweet Street is the most intricate environment in Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 — a pastel-colored neighborhood that slowly reveals itself to be a carefully designed trap. This complete walkthrough of the lily love braids house guides you through every act, puzzle, collectible, and secret room, ensuring you never miss a detail in this haunting space.

Introduction to Sweet Street

Sweet Street serves as the central hub environment for all of Poppy Playtime Chapter 5. Unlike the industrial corridors and research labs of earlier chapters, Sweet Street presents as a cheerful residential neighborhood — pastel houses, flower boxes, cobblestone paths, and Lily's house at the far end of the street, biggest and most welcoming of all.

The dissonance is intentional. MOB Games designed Sweet Street to lull players into a false sense of domestic safety before systematically removing every element of comfort. Lily's house — the lily love braids house that players spend most of the chapter inside — is architecturally impossible in ways that only become apparent over time. Doors lead to wrong rooms. The basement is larger than the footprint above it. The second-floor hallway loops if you linger.

For background on why Sweet Street exists and what it represents in Playtime Co.'s experiments, see our Experiment 1468 lore article and our profile of who Lily Lovebraids was before the experiment.

Act 1 — The Foyer

You enter the lily love braids house through the front door, which opens automatically. The foyer is your first impression of Lily's domain: a high-ceilinged entry hall with braided rope decorations along the banister, pastel wallpaper, and a chandelier made of interlocked toys. Everything feels curated and slightly too perfect.

Objective: Find the pink key on the foyer pedestal. Before you touch it, examine the room thoroughly. Two memorabilia collectibles are in the foyer — a framed class photo on the east wall and a hair ribbon tucked under the welcome mat. Collect both before interacting with the pedestal, as the jumpscare that follows will reposition you and make backtracking awkward.

When you pick up the pink key, the first lily love braids jumpscare triggers. Complete the QTE and proceed to the living room door on the west wall.

Act 1 — Living Room Puzzle

The living room is the largest space in Act 1 and contains the chapter's first major puzzle: the color-sequence wall panel. The room itself is beautifully detailed — a working fireplace, a couch covered in braided cushions, bookshelves filled with Sweet Street resident figurines (three of four collectible figurines are here), and the music box on the mantelpiece.

Color Puzzle: Look at the painting above the couch. The colored bows decorating the painted figures read left-to-right and represent your input sequence for the panel on the north wall. The colors change each playthrough, so there is no universal solution — but the hint is always visible in that painting.

Music Box Decision: After solving the color puzzle, the mantelpiece music box becomes accessible. This is your first major ending choice: destroy it (required for Ending B) or leave it playing (required for Ending C). See our endings guide for detailed consequences.

Completing the color puzzle opens the basement door in the kitchen, which you do not need to visit yet. The staircase to the second floor is now also unlocked.

Act 2 — Upstairs Exploration

The second floor of the lily love braids house contains four rooms: the mirror hallway, Lily's bedroom, a sewing room, and a locked attic hatch. This is the chapter's exploration-heavy section, and it rewards thoroughness — three collectibles and two optional puzzles are here.

Mirror Hallway: Navigate carefully. The Mirror Room jumpscare triggers if you look directly at the cracked mirror on the left wall. If you want the collectible that spawns nearby without triggering the full scare, glance briefly and immediately look away.

Lily's Bedroom: This room holds the most lore density in the entire chapter. Lily's pre-experiment report card sits on the desk (collectible). Her trophy shelf, drawings on the walls, and the window's painted-over view all tell a story about her life before Playtime Co. Community analysis of the bedroom art is documented in our Ms. Gracie connection lore article.

Sewing Room: An optional threading puzzle here rewards you with a Playtime Co. document (collectible) that details early Sweet Street project plans. The puzzle requires threading a needle through six eyelets in a specific order shown on a diagram pinned to the corkboard.

Lily's Portrait (Ending Choice #3): At the end of the second-floor hallway, before the staircase down, hangs a portrait of Lily as a human child. Interact with it. Nothing obvious happens — no dialogue, no reward — but it sets the hidden flag for Ending C.

Act 2 — The Basement

The basement is the most mechanically demanding section of the lily love braids house walkthrough. Accessed through the kitchen door unlocked in Act 1, the basement is a labyrinthine space that extends far beyond the house's visible footprint. The generator room is the primary objective.

Navigation: Use the wall markers — small painted arrows — to navigate toward the generator room. The basement has three chambers: the storage area (entry), the maintenance corridor (middle), and the generator room (far end). Moving the lighter (your only light source) around reveals the arrows on the right-hand walls.

Generator Interaction: Turning off the generator triggers the Basement Chase Scare, the most intense in the chapter. Your second major ending choice occurs during the chase: find the combat tool near the east wall (fight — leads to Ending B) or ignore it and sprint straight to the ladder (run — keeps Ending C available).

Two collectibles are in the basement: a Playtime Co. internal memo on the storage shelves and a Sweet Street figurine (#4) on a shelf in the maintenance corridor. Both must be collected before triggering the generator, as the basement becomes inaccessible after the chase.

Act 3 — Sweet Street Exterior

Act 3 begins when you exit through the back door after the basement sequence. You emerge onto Sweet Street itself — the wider neighborhood visible from Lily's house windows. This exterior section is approximately 40% longer than the house interior in terms of playtime.

Sweet Street exterior features five other building facades (all locked), a central fountain, the town square area (site of the Ending B confrontation), and the garden gate at the far end. Moving through the street, Lily's presence is felt but not seen — her braids occasionally appear in windows or around corners, retreating before the player arrives.

The final collectible — a music sheet — is tucked behind the fountain. Retrieve it before reaching the garden gate, as once you open the gate, the exterior becomes inaccessible in most endings.

At the garden gate, your ending is determined by the three choices you have made. If Ending C conditions are met, a braided door appears to the left of the garden gate.

Secret Rooms and Hidden Areas

Beyond the main path, the lily love braids house hides three discoverable secret areas that contain lore but no required objectives:

The Attic: Accessible by solving the optional upstairs sewing room puzzle completely and then returning to the second-floor hallway. A previously locked attic hatch opens. The attic contains surveillance equipment — cameras pointing at all floors of the house — and a monitor showing live feeds. Playtime Co. was watching everything.

The Kitchen Pantry: A false wall in the kitchen pantry opens if you interact with the third shelf from the bottom on the right-hand side. Behind it is a small room with Lily's cooking experiments — jars labeled with impossible-sounding ingredient combinations, and a notebook written in a child's handwriting that shifts to corporate notation mid-sentence.

The Basement East Room: During the basement sequence, if you move east beyond the generator room rather than toward the ladder, you find a fourth chamber. This room contains the earliest known documentation of the Sweet Street project — predating even Experiment 1468. Read more in our Experiment 1468 analysis. Note: entering this room during the chase sequence will almost certainly result in a game-over.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big is Lily Lovebraids house in Chapter 5?

Lily's house — referred to internally as Sweet Street House — is the largest single environment in Poppy Playtime Chapter 5. It spans three floors plus a basement, connected by a hallway that warps geometry during the Hallway Loop sequence. The exterior Sweet Street area adds approximately 40% more explorable space.

Where is the music box in Lily's house?

The music box is found in the Act 1 living room, on the mantelpiece above the fireplace. It is accessible after solving the color-sequence puzzle on the wall opposite the fireplace. You must choose to preserve or destroy it — this choice affects which ending you receive.

How many collectibles are in Sweet Street?

There are 12 collectibles hidden throughout Lily's house and Sweet Street exterior: 5 memorabilia items (photos, a bracelet, a report card, a ribbon, and a music sheet), 3 Playtime Co. documents, and 4 Sweet Street resident figurines. Collecting all 12 unlocks the post-credits variation of the ending.

What is the color puzzle solution in the living room?

The living room color puzzle solution changes per playthrough based on a seed tied to your player profile. However, the hint is always visible: look at the arrangement of colored bows on the painting above the couch. The sequence reads left-to-right across the bows: that is your input order for the wall panel.

Is there a map for Lily's house in Chapter 5?

The game does not provide an in-game map, but the community has produced highly accurate fan maps available on the Poppy Playtime subreddit. Lily's house follows a roughly U-shaped floor plan on each level, with the basement extending further east than the floors above it.
